No sound out of speakers

I have a VPCEB4X0E i have used some external speakers plugged into the headphone socket. Since then I cannot get a sound out of the in built speakers. The volume mixer shows a sound being generated. Any ideas / remedies to getting the sound back to the internal speakers?

Hi rturner003,

If external speakers plugged in to the headphone jack still work it would suggest a mechanical problem with the socket – i.e. a sticking connector that mutes the internal speakers when external speakers are connected.

You could try plugging in and removing the jack plug rapidly and repeatedly to see whether this frees up the mute connection.

Otherwise a repair is possibly required.
