Need help to restore my FS415M

Hi every 1.

I bought VGN FS415M from UK in Feb 2006. By that time I made 2 recovery DVDs and they are in very good shape till now, though I have restored my note book using those on several time. Last month during an attemp of intalling vista, I accidently formatted C & D (alongwith recovery partition).

Now is there any way of restoring/downloading that 6-7 Gb recovery partition? I am currently in Pakistan, so cannot buy it from sony again.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Khan,

Unfortunately you can not download the recovery partition.. :slight_frown:

What happens when you use the recovery disc's that you created.?

Are you sure the recovery partition has been deleted.?

Try starting your vaio and pressing F10 repeatedly when you see the Vaio logo as this normally would start the recovery process..

If that does not work then you will have to contact Vaio-Link to purchase a new set of recovery DVD's, I'm not sure if Sony will ship to to Pakistan, can some one from Europe order them on your behalf and then forward to you..?

Thnx for replying Thalamus,

I have tried this F10 method after going through one of your threads, but unfotunately it doesn't work.

How much would it cost me in Pounds to buy a new set of recovery DVDs?

Also for the last few days my Note book is showing a message

"The battery is incompactable, press OK to Hibernate and re-insert the battery"

Is the battery gone dead?

I believe the recovery disc sets cost around £30..

For your battery check in Windows task manager is ISBMgr.exe listed.?
