mystery of the disappearing toolbar

I've got a VCG 481M notebook and when I close the lid (putting it into hibernation mode) and open it up gain - the toolbar along the bottom has vanished. Thus when I minimize anything it vansihes too onto the invisible toolbar. If I reboot it's always back but anyne know know how I can solve this annoying conundrum? All help gratefully recieved!

Right click the toolbar and click on properties
Uncheck auto-hide the toolbar

thanks but sadly I'd already done that and the problem is still there!

It sounds as though explorer.exe is falling over for some reason on waking from hibernation.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and click the ‘Applications’ tab, click on the ‘New Task’ button. Then, in the ‘Open’ box, type explorer or ‘c:\windows\explorer.exe’

If this restores the taskbar check Vaio-Link for any updates that address this issue.
