When you look in Device Manager, under Network Adapters, does it say the the ethernet adapter is working normally?
In Network Connections, is the Local Area Connection shown as Enabled?
Hi Blencogo,
Thanks for reply.
The Ethernet Adapter is working normally on all the tests I've run on it :smileyconfused:.
Local Area Connection is enabled :smileyconfused:.
I've tried different cables and un-installed the adapter etc. Basically every avenue I know, but still the same outcome :smileysad:.
I've hard wired into another laptop and all works fine. So, I can only surmise that it must be the hardware in my laptop that is at fault :smileysad:.
Cheers,
Oid
Is the other laptop using Windows 7?
Is there a firmware update for your router?
Just clutching at straws really. It may be time to contact Vaio Support.
Other laptop is using Windows 7 and its an almost identical laptop!
I'm onto Vaio Support via email at the moment, which is a little frustrating :smileysad:.....think I'm going to have to call but I imagine that will be as frustrating
Thanks for your assistance Blencogo
