When I securely remove an USB key from my Dell computer running Windows XP, the LED on the key switches off when a Windows message is displayed that says that the key may safely be removed. When I try the same on my Sony VAIO VGN-FE41S running Vista Ultimate (NB: it was the same previously with Vista Home Premium), a message is displayed that I may safely remove the key, but the LED on the key remains turned on. I tried USB keys from various suppliers with the same result.
This is actually misleading, because if you miss the Windows message, you're not sure if you can remove the key.
Did anyone get the same phenomenon ?
