The easiest way to go wireless is to get a Wireless Modem Router. You tell the router how to connect to your ISP and then you tell your computer how to connect to the router. The Router is always connected to the internet and your computer will normally connect to the router as soon as it's turned on. It is sooo much easier than having to manually connect every time you turn on your computer and of course you can turn off the connection any time you want.
A word of warning. Most wireless modem routers don't enable security by default. You should enable it straight away.
