I have a 3 year old Sony notebook that came pre-installed with XP. About six weeks ago I re-installed everything using the Sony CD that cazme with the notebook. have Panda Titanium anti virus software. Tonight both Windows and Panda did an automatic update. I then got a message saying this copy of Windows is not a legal, you may be a victim of counterfeiting. Clearly it is a legal copy as It has updated itself many times previously and I bought the laptop new and have been the only owner/user. Any suggestions?
I take it this was that Geniune Advantage Update?
I would question Sony about this, maybe they have an idea why it's happening.
It could be a conflict with Panda - Panda is known to cause conflicts. It did with me.
I'd also check the code you entered, and try re-installing from the disc again just in case an input error has caused it.
Panda's like the animal, temprimental
