Hello
I have FZ (vgn-fz29vn) series notebook with Windows Vista Business (notebook was suplied with Home edition).
I am able to enter VAIO Recovery Center on startup pressing F10 key.
Problem is that only four options are available:
-Windows Sytem Restore
-VAIO Hardware Diagnostics
-Restore C: Drive
-Rescue Data
Recovery partition is still installed.
Is there any way to make recovery discs?

Hi pretnarm,
To create the recovery media (from within Windows) click Start > All Programs > Vaio Recovery Center > Vaio Recovery Center.
For more detail have a look at page 16 of your user manual.

Hi
Problem is that I made fresh Vista installation (not from recovery partition) and install drivers/software available on support website. Vaio Recovery Center is not available to download from support website.
Will I be able to restore original installation from Vaio partition if I use Windows Sytem Restore or Restore C: Drive?
Hi pretnarm,
In that case you will need to restore your Vaio back to factory settings using the HDD recovery utility (Restore C Drive) and then create your recovery media or order a set of recovery disks from support.
The out of warranty support number from the UK is 0905 0310006 (35p/min)

Thanks for quick reply
So if I understand correctly, using Restore C: Drive to install OS from Vaio partition will allow me creating recovery DVD/CD?
Restoring the C drive using the HDD recovery utility will restore your Vaio to ‘As Delivered’, hence you should have all drivers, utilities and software that the computer came with – including the Vaio Recovery Center.
Be aware that this procedure formats the hard drive and you will lose all personal data and third party programs. Make a backup of any personal data you may need.
Good luck and let us know how you get on...

Thanks again for helping
Will report back when restoring to factory settings
Fingers crossed
