help on using monitor with 2 computers

VGC-LA1 operated win xp + mce. I need to use the monitor for another computer (one monitor for 2 cpu). trying to connect the other computer to s-video, does not work. mce is looking for tv and recognize on small screen that there is a s-video link. but can not enlarge it.
How can I use vido or s-video on VGC-LA1 as a monitor to another computer.
please help as 2 screen on one table is too much.

Hi harel and welcome to Club Vaio.

Many have tried to use the Sony "All-In-One" Vaios as a monitor. It does not seem possible with MCE - it doesn't cope well with analogue inputs.

MCE seems unable to display a s-video input in full screen unless you can set it up as a set-top-box. Unfortunately you cannot do this with the Sony 'All-In-Ones' only with the Vaio XL Media Centres.

I think someone did have some joy in the past by downloading a freeware copy of an analogue TV Tuner software program that recognised the s-video input.

Thanks blencogo for reverting so fast though it seem hopeless.
what is the vaio xl media center - only software or the whole mechine?
Is it possible to load it on my vgc-la mechine?.
And have you any information about the program of analouge tv if it works I can slove the problem with it.
BTW the fact that the mce recognise the s-video on small screen and demand to fix the ir for set-top- box really drive me crazy 🙂 its there and I can't use it.
Thanks
Harel

To all facing same problems.
I invested time in downloading and testing tv tuners software.
finally left with 2: dscaler and sagetv.
It's totaly a waste of time .
I can watch now full screen of other computer, without the neeed of configuring set-top-box or ir controller but!!!!!!
quality of pic is so bad I can hardly read one word on the screen.
If someone did solve the problem please share the findings. 🙂
