Go to crucial and use their scan software to assess what is suitable. I have a simular model and maximum RAM possible is 2x512 303_200 pin ddr sodimm
but double check that is the right RAM which is 105 eurosCrucial

You will not be able to use the memory from a BX-series in a K-series. One uses DDR2 RAM and the other DDR RAM. I think you will find that it will not fit in the socket.

I would follow Tony's advice and buy the correct memory for your Vaio.

Be careful!!!

The American site is recommending PC2100 DDR266 modules. Both Sony and Crucial are recommending PC2700 DDR333 modules.

I'm sure their module will work but it will be slower than the memory you already have installed.

Crucial DDR333 512MB costs $64.88 (about £2.70 more than the Samsung DDR266) but with free 1 or 2 day delivery. Are you getting free delivery from the US? If not it will cost you about $24 (£13) for a 10 to 12 day delivery.

Most of us on this forum know and trust Crucial - I don't know anything about the US company. The choice is yours but I think I know which I would buy!
