HDD need attention

In the last couple of days my laptop started to move really, but really slow, would be difficult even to start firefox or skype. I checked it for viruses and nothing. But Vaio care is giving me this message: HDD need your attention? Does anybody have an idea what should I do?

Have you tried a spyware scan? If not, try scanning with superantispyware.

Also, how much free space do you have on your Windows drive?

Could you also try defragging your hard drive?
