Giga Pocket!!! Please!!

I just got a computer as a gift and I really really wanted the gigapocket. It is a RX860 and unfortunatly didn't come with giga pocket software or tv card. (just pico player). Is there anyway i can purchase giga pocket software and just install any old tv card? Will this work and if so where can i get the software. Thanks so much!!

Unfortunately you cannot buy GigaPocket separately from a hardware bundle.

If you want to look at alternatives, use your favorite Internet search engine to search on "tv card".

thought you might be interested in knowing that gigapocket as well as the remote and receiver are available for purchase separately at sony's japanese vaio site.
......now if i could only read japanese.....

You can, of course, buy any TV-card, just the Giga Pocket software will not run with other TV-boards, because it looks for those special chips...

You are right, it is a shame, that it's not avaiable as an accesory. But even if my japanese was any good, the TV-card wouldn't be, because it's the NTSC-hardware, that will not give you a signal in Europe...

I've just been looking to upgrade my RX407 desktop to include Giga Pocket. Seems odd it's available as an upgrade in Japan but not in Europe. Maybe Sony should think about releasing it here.

Problem again applies: it's a NTSC-board, all the chips etc. only work in Japan and the US.

No sense launching it here - it wouldn't work....

pc world are doing an external tv tuner by pinnacle for £100 over the bank holiday that does the same job as giga pocket. you just may need to download dvd movie factory as well very easy software to use
