I have a 6 month old FE21s which has been fine and dandy until the last few weeks.
It has started taking ages to start up but I have found other threads here with advice on that.
But the other problem is with the sound card. It is (I think, you can tell I am not an expert) a SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC.
My sound, especially when playing songs on iTunes, was a bit crackly at times.
In the last few days Control Panel/Sounds & Audio Devices reports that there is no audio device installed. Sometimes this means I have no sound on the computer but at the moment everything is playing fine?!
On occasion I am unable to alter the volume using the buttons on the laptop and the green onscreen volume bars don't appear any more.
I have probably explained this very poorly but if anyone can understand my plight and can help it would be greatly appreciated.
