Hi all,
Recently purchased the FE11-H, re-installed the OS with XP Pro - SP2 with all recent updates, all of the drivers and software work fine bar the audio – we’ve tried the files which were originally on the C drive from the Sony install, and those on the Vaio update page (the same anyway), the installation programme hangs when it gets to the below, any ideas?
Hi hotbox,

Have you checked the Device manager for any conflicts?
The specifications for your model state that the sound chip is Intel High Definition Audio compatible. In that case you probably need to install the Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver before installing the Sigma Tel audio drivers.
Search the Microsoft knowledge base for KB888111 for more information.
The Driver is available for download from here, but verify that it is correct for your chipset before installing.
Many thanks for the info.
It took a while to get a connection to the ASUS website but once downloaded and installed the driver sorted the issues.
Again many thanks.
