Faulty VGN-AR31M Monitor

hi there,
had a nice xmas surprise - my 10 month old vgnar31m monitor decided to go belly up - the screen seems to wait 5 minutes then goes from black to a what only can be described as a (very fast!) scrolling image! (the desktop/image is fine whilst displayed on my tv). there's also 'hundreds' of black horizontal lines all over the place, but thats presumably because of the 'scrolling' effect? anyone else had a similar problem?

my ar21s had a new screen at 11months, had a pink line down the middle. i would take out an extra warrenty if you can. got it back in aweek, so not to bad.
