External screen to my small VAIO
Isnt it just great that I have asked this here earler one year ago and no answer. Also tried via all contacts into SONY regaring help, talked to servce staff etc. No one can answer....
Here is my Q again. What external screen is good to use to the small Vaio I have? 1366x768
Is there no one at Sony that can answer to how your view into this was not to use any standard or and not to be able to connet an external screen that can stay with the same format and not just tweaks everything around when changing locvation from desktop to "office screen"?
I would prefarably like to use external screeen and lap top screen as "one area"!
Which VAIO?
series
TX
kind regards,
hakan
Hi,
I'm not sure I totally understand your question, but I use an external monitor as an extension to my desktop, i.e. they both work as one area. In Vista it shows the options as soon as you plug the monitor in, in XP they are in Control Pannel, Display, Settings (select the monitor and tick extend my desktop). You can set it to be to the right, left, top, etc... I'm not sure it matters what monitor, as you can set the resolution with windows.
Is that any help?
Thanks but sorry no help. Monitor needs to have ssame broad resolution otherwsie it gets **** up all the time. I have not got an answer within a year from Sony regarding this. How many SONY and VAIO does Sony think I will let my organisation to by in the future?
The reason you are not getting the answer you want is because no-one really understands your question. I for one cannot work out exactly what you want.
There must be hundreds of 16:9 external monitors on the market that will work with your TX - using Google and typing in 16:9 Monitors gives 134,000 hits.
If you are looking for monitors with exactly the same resolution as your TX's screen, you will probably find that 1366 X 768 is only available on monitors over 30 inches but you do not need exactly the same resolution and any of the many hundreds of 16:9 monitors with the same aspect ratio will do a good job as long as they accept a standard VGA monitor connection.
Peronally, I would avoid Samsung displays as there are some incompatibilities with Vaios through VGA connections. Sony do not make computer monitors anymore.
