DVD+R not possible to burn on MATSHITA UJ-840D

DVD+R not possible to burn on MATSHITA UJ-840D.
I am getting the message

Using Roxio and several makes of DVD+R discs (Verbatim,Pleomax etc.) .
Firmware version 1.03
Windows XP SP2
So is it that my drive doesnot support recording dvdv+r s or is it something wrong with it?????

What model Vaio is the drive in?

VGN-FS315S is the model,running windows xp home sp2.using roxio .

According to the specifications it should support: -

CD-ROM : 24 x Speed
CD-R : 24 x Speed
CD-RW : 24 x Speed
DVD-ROM : 8 x Speed
DVD +R : 8 x Speed
DVD +RW 8 x Speed
DVD -R : 8 x Speed
DVD -RW : 6 x Speed
DVD Dual Layer : 2.4 x Speed

You seem to have the latest firmware. So it is probably a fault or software.

Have you tried another burning program?
