I have a PCG-GRT916V and I'm trying to burn photographs onto a DVD-RW disc using DVD R/RW, but it gives me a non writeable error. Am I trying the impossible? Any help would be welcome.
Does your drive support the "-" standard?
How do I establish whether it does support that format?
That model has a dual format drive.
Any other suggestions? Using TDK DVD+RW 4.7GB discs. Specific software to use? Anything - am at a loss here.
I use Ahead Nero, install the packet writing software InCD as well as Nero if you want to treat the drive like a floppy for on-the-fly burning and erasing.
http://www.ahead.de - there is a free trial available. HTH
I have just bought a GRT 816s and I too am having problems burning to dvd.I am using Packard Bell DVD+RW. Don't know if this makes a difference. The drive is a Pioneeer multi format but I get error "check if disc is in tray properly". It is in the tray and can be read through my computer. Help????
I have heard of problems with PB media in the past - I have the same (Pioneer) drive and use TDK + & - and R & RW with no problems.
I only use TDK and Memorex.
