DISABLE BLUETOOTH AT STARTUP

Salut,

I'd like to know if there's a way to turn off the Bluetooth device at the BIOS level. The Bluetooth automatically turns off when the Vaio (VGN-SZ4XN) starts and it's not till the Switcher process comes up that it doesn't.

Mainly it's a matter of energy saving, but I realized that windows vista sometimes slows its strarting up waiting for whatever it is and when the Bluetooth becomes off the system performs as usual.

Thanks!

Hi josep.font,

I am not aware of any BIOS level options but have you tried turning off Bluetooth via the Switch Setting Utility? Double click the LAN icon in the system tray and uncheck “Enable Bluetooth device”.

Otherwise you could disable the device in Device Manager.

Thanks Rich,

But my problem is that the Bluetooth device turns automatically on when the computer starts. Of course if I set it off in the Switcher tool it switches off when the windows session starts, but not before.

That's why I asked a low level solution.. but I'm aware there's no way.

Did you try disabling the Bluetooth device in Device Manager?

Also you could try disabling the TOSHIBA Bluetooth Service via Run > Services.msc.
