BluRay playback on Vaio VGX-XL302

I've just purchased the VGX-XL302 bundled with all the hardware and software for BluRay (WinDVD DB v8 factory installed). I can play DVD's but so far none of the DB films I have will play through WinDVD DB. WinDVD version is 8.0.8.67. I've tried downloading and applying the patch from Sony to WinDVD BD 8.0.8.425_3 but upon running the patch it says that this patch doesn't apply to the version installed.

Anyone have any idea how I can play BD films without having to puychase other software? This is really disapointing that a media centre fails miserably at the first hurdle.

Try installing the InterVideo WinDVD BD Update Patch 8.0.08.416_2
