Best way to use the battey in a Vaio TX

What's the best way to use the battery when the computer is connected to the electricity? I have had too much conflicting advice. Some say keep the battery always in the computer, some say take it out. What's the best advice o keep this expensive item in top condition?

Welcome to the club,
OK If you have a power cut and your hard drive is active you will more than likely stuff up the hard drive. This will never happen if you have the battery on board. The battery only gets worn down by usage not by being charged. The battery has a chip which does draw some power (about .7watts) which governs the lithium to ensure it doesn't get overcharged and well.....explode. It also manages the temperture so a room temp is maintained for optimum performance. In other words .....if you are plugged in leave it in. If you are on the road a lot buy a second battery and share the load to help make both last for maximum battery life.
