I am afraid this is another posting about fan noise. I bought this morning a Vaio VGN-BX297XP. When I switched it on I was gutted !!! The fan was so much noisier than in my old Vaio (bought in 2001, I think it was a PCG GRX316). So much for the evolution of technology !!! The grotesque thing is that I cannot find in my laptop the Thermal Control Strategy function for love nor money. There is no Power Management icon in my system tray and nothing with that function in Control Panel. I really am disappointed and hope Support will find a remedy for this, but am pessimistic as I see so many other people have the same problem. I was a big fan of Sony in general but fear that I am about to chenge my views on this company.:smileysad:
