Audio Digital (SP/DIF) Out for BluRay on Sony Vaio

Hi Everyone,

I am thinking about purchasing a Sony Vaio FZ21M, a large part of making this purchase would be based on playing Blu Ray DVDs on my projector and surround system. A friend of mine has this laptop and we´ve been trying to get digital out to his amplifier, which doesn´t seem to be supported in this model (no sp/dif connection). Obviously this is very important, since I would like to have 5.1 DTS/Dolby Digital surround sound.

As I understood you need an additional USB - Sp/dif soundcard such as the creative 5.1 surround. However I read some post that this doesn´t work very well (no Surround on Bluray DVDs) Does someone have this setup working correctly and lay my worries to rest?

I´ve just noticed the VGN-AR51J has native digital out spdi/f connector, this might be a better option for me, since it´s only a few $ more.
