Annoying TV recording problem

Finally got my XL-302 working to some sort of usable manor (wife friendly :smileygrin: ).

Sat down to watch BBC1 last night, paused it for about 20 minutes, then carried on watching. While we were watching BBC1, a series link recording started which the system automatically switched channels when the recording started. I switched back to BBC1 which of cause I had lost the buffered live recording.

Is this normal for a dual turner system to switch channels when it starts recording?

Had no reply from Sony support so just wondered if you guys could shed some light on this.
