Could anybody help me with these two problems
1: Optical out audio jack not working after returning from sleep or
hibernation - a restart cures the problem
Is this normal?
2: Magnifier in 'ease of access' produces a frame thats filled with solid white
i.e. no transparency hence no magnification of whats under the frame.
This was brought to my attention when purchased a Microsoft Notebook Optical mouse 3000
which has a dedicated magnify button.
Any help would be appreciated Thanks
Vista is glitchy so sometimes you need to go into the device manager and enable and disable the errant driver that is causing the problem in your case the Sigma Tel High def audio controller and right click on it when you open up the tree.
The mouse issue is likely to be a driver issue also where the driver has been poorly coded or is just not compatable. Go to the website where the manufacturer may have updated the driver or even try an older driver and manually install it in the device manager.
Thanks for reply
As far as magnifier is concerned i restored vista back before mouse driver
installed and still the magnifier function failed to work properly. So looks as if
there something more fundamental in Vista thats not working properly .
What fun ,probably some other driver-- whatever.
When you said enable disable the Sigma driver will this action cure the failure to restart the optical out problem or shall i try to update the driver ?
Anyway i can almost live with this but the magnifier malfunction is more serious and would be useful to me because of my cataracts in both eyes.
Again many thanks for input
yours Viola
 Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and do a
complete system restore as now suggested by e-support
I suppose two months ownership of Sony Ar series with Vista before restore
is getting better
Vista who needs it
