Not had my A217S long and got a nasty scratch across the top outer silver moulding and a scratch across the silver moulding around the keyboard.
Could these replaced...?
Would Sony do it or can I replace them if I could get the parts..?
I don't mind paying as this is really annoying...I'm such a clumsy plonker!
Anyone else had any cosmetic damaged parts replaced by Sony...? Is it expensive and does it take long..?
Gazza
Sadly nope, Sony aint good like that
I'm pretty sure you could get Sony to replace the casing - with their repair strategy, I would guess that they would replace the whole case and it would be very expensive.
It's probably wiser to just look on the marks as battle scars and save the cash for your next notebook.
I'm not sure they would.....
Only one way to find out . . . phone Vaio Link.
A new case is about £200!, i tried that one!. Im gonna fix mine with a can of matt silver 'airfix' type spray paint, just dont know if i need to prep the surface with, and if i do, what with? anyone know about spraying plastics?
I would say you have to roughen the surface then you have to tape everything in which the color doesn't have to go. Like inside your laptop.
Now you could spray it.
Good luck:smileywink:
Personally I'd avoid it, your VAIO is too expensive to f&&k it up
