a117s serial product number

Got a problem when my machine went for repair it came back with a serial number and product number which is 12345678 1234567 in the bios question is how can i change these back to what they should be ? because of this the vaio update utility does not work correctly and gives errors I would like to reinstate my original which is on the bottom of the unit any help ?

Hi Zamir,

Unfortunately as far as I am aware you will not be able to change the serial number in the BIOS..

Do you have the same serial number listed in Vaio Control Center > System Information.?

Did Sony Support do the repair on your Vaio.?

Repair was done by the tech guys (pc world) got the unit back today and was happy i had a working machine but upset that they messed up the serial number

I suggest you go back to PC world and ask if they can rectify the problem..
