White dashed lines above the main image in normal screen set up

I have a new Bravia. I am quite disappointed with the quality of the image. One thing that especially annoys me is that there is a series of white dashes above the image on the screen in normal screen set up and in others. This is intermittent. Does anyone have a solution please?

Hi,

dont take this the wrong way but have you set the screen format correctly, screen format- Auto, 4.3 default-smart and display area-normal.

other than that, cant think of anything else.

Hi there, no offense at all. I checked what you suggested and reset just in case there was a glitch, however the problem remains. It occurs on one channels news programme most noticeably, but is present in a reduced form on all other channels. But thanks for the advice.

Thank you for posting your problem here.

Because there is no photo attached to display what you have exactly , but i guess you have white dots displayed on the screen from time to time when you watching digital channel.

To isolate the problem cause please try to test other sources by connecting DVD / blu-ray or sat box or camera and confirm if the problem duplicate

if the problem ONLY exsists with digital channel , i believe you RF cable have noise picked up (electromagentic interference) which cause dash lines / dots . check the route of your cable and it sheild wire connection , or disconnect the anetenna booster as a source of noise

i do not wish to worry you unduly, but it could be possible that the Horizontal adjustment may be out and its not something that you can do yourself, i would strongly suggest you contact your dealer since you only just bought this and take the matter up with him and see what he can do for you as this clearly is not right.

you did mention other aspects of the picture did not look right either and the lines at the top was what you noticed more, if you are not happy you should be able to request a replacement.
