VGA connection between PC and Bravia KDL40EX503

My Bravia KDL40EX503 VGA input seems not to recognise my PC VGA output. The PC is a Novatech Maxfire Turion model 259Kl1. I understand this is manufactured by Uniwill. Can anyone help please?

I have the same problem with a 32" Sony.... it would appear that some SVGA cables only support screens upto 17"..... don't know why as yet. Using the same cables and various sources, I can get a small a screen to work but not my 32" sony tv

I gave a presentation today on the 65LX905 via a VGA cable, so I'm not sure there is a TV limitation.
