usp problem for television

Hello i just bought a Sony bravia 46" television, and i was told that i could connect my extern harddisk to the tv and watch my movies. But when i connect the harddisk, nothing happends. When i go to source then i cannot choose the usp version.

Does someone know the problem ?

Hi,

your problem is a simple one, whoever told you that you could use your hard drive on your tv forgot to tell you that the drive has to be formatted in FAT32 for it to work because currently your drive is in NTFS.

you need to transfer back to your pc all your movie files, re format the drive, then transfer your movies back again.
