Problems connecting a new KDL-40CX523 to a Sky Netgear router via UWA-BR100 WIFI adapter

Just bought a KDL-40CX523 smart tv only to find that (according to the manual) I needed a UWA-BR100 WIFI adapter to connect this tv to the internet services. I duly bought this unit but have been unable to get the adapter to connect to my Sky broadband (netgear) router. Tried auto and manual set ups without sucess.

Just about ready to give up......unless some good samaritan can come to my rescue !

Hi

Few things to try.

• Make sure you have the latest firmware on your netgear modem.
• If you can, update the firmware on your TV as well, either via a USB stick or temporarily running an Ethernet cable to your Netgear to do it that way.
• You didn't say how far into the setup procedue you got. Assuming you have a WEP/WPA code on your connection, try disabling it and see if you can connect without security. Remember the codes are also case specific so be careful when entering the code.
• Run a factory reset on the TV after you have updated the firmware.
