Possible to use same external drive for recording and playback?

Hi

I've just got a KDL32CX523BU and so far very happy with it.

I'm now trying to get it working to enable the record function and playback of pictures/videos from USB external drive.

Is it possible to buy an external HD (ideally not powered) that I can use to plug into the external hard drive record USB slot for the TV and then to also use with my laptop/PC to store pictures/videos on that I can then plug directly into the other USB drive to play/view on? So I can have one external HD and just swop where I plug it into?

I've had a look around the forum but not found any definite answer so far.

Thanks

Hi

Unfortunately you cannot... The usb drive used for recording is formatted by the tv during the registration process which makes it unusable on a PC. You need to have a second drive to conect to the second USB port to view images, play music or video.
