New TV and Sky, No Picture but has sound?

Okay, I got a new tv for christmas and well it's a Sony Bravia BX32 (Not sure where to get full retail info and stuff so >->)

I let my mother set it up, and well it seemed like we were doing well up until the point where we couldn't find the actual thing (AVI 1/AVI 2/Digital/Analogue) but we found it was put as AVI 1 but then another problem was that only the sound would actually come through after a while of just sitting and trying to figure it out. Yes the sound didn't come straight away but then it came and now I am stuck. No picture just sound and I'd rather not have to just listen to my tv.

I am listening to a music channel as that is the best I can get for now.. so help?

Also is there a way to stop the tv turning off by itself? As I have to keep turning it back on after about 5 minutes.

Hmm - sounds like its faulty as thats not the usual out of the box experience! I'd return it to your retailer as it shouldn't turn off after 5 seconds....

FYI - The BX is a 2010 model as well, so maybe look at one of the newer 2011 CX's or EX models?
