Dear all
Yesterday I managed to install a Pioneer home cinema system (BCS-FS111) to my KDL-40EX720. I connected the 2 units via HDMI 1 on the TV which is the ARC enabled channel. I followed all the instructions but i did not manage to get any feedback from the TV.
I have gone through all the menus to see if there is a way I could enable this but I could not find anything. The cable I have is brand new. On the cable it does not say that it is 1.4 compliant however it says standard HDMI cable with ethernet. The cable is also connected to a 90 degree adapter -

I am suspecting that the cable is as fault, however before taking that route is there anything in the settings which I need to update which I am not aware of?
Regards
Lawrence

So ... today i bought a 1.4 HDMI cable and connected the tv directly to the home cinema and the ARC feedback did not work. The option is enabled on the home cinema. Please anyone can help?
regards
Lawrence
Hi,
can you for the sake of elimination connect it without the adaptor and see if it works, other than that i cant think what else would be causing it
That is how I tried it yesterday, The cable the shop assistant gave me should be 1.4 compliant but saw nothing written on the outer package so i still suspect that the problem is cable related... if anyone has any recommendation on a kind of cable i could use ...
in the meantime i am using the headphone output from 3.5mm jack to phonos and connected them to the home cinema, after all the DVB transmissions only transmit in stereo. I then connected my media player via optical cable to the home cinema... so instead of 1 cable to rule them all i ended up with 3 cables

try one of these, it was surprising you were sold an unidentified cable!
