HD Ready simply means it can display an HD signal from an HD source, be it a Blu-ray player, PS3, Sky Box, STB etc

The TV does not have Freeview HD built in however.

Thanks

Hi javajiver,

welcome to Questions & Answers..:smileyhappy:

Standard Definition TVs have 720 x 576 pixels, or 576 lines of 720 pixels.

Then there are those classed as HD Ready TV's which have twice as many  at 1280 x 720.

Then there are Full HD TV's which have 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Your KDL40D would be classed as a Full HD TV - click the link to see the specifications for your KDL40D 3500
