Well I still get a "This service is unavailable" message when trying to connect.
Me too. Still getting 'Service Unavailable' message.
Had problems with some other serivces yesterday - 5 OD, Sony Films, LoveFilm: getting Network Error. But working today.
But iPlayer and uTube working fine.
Yes, they're still offline. I got the following email dated the 20th May:
"We're pleased to say that we have now started restoring some Qriocity services. Current subscribers can access Q Music Unlimited via PC and PlayStation® devices. Access to Q Music Unlimited and Q Video on Demand via Sony Blu-ray Players, BRAVIA televisions, Home Audio, Video and Network devices will follow.
Keep an eye on www.qriocity.com for the very latest developments. We will also send a further email clarifying restoration of Qriocity services."
So with any luck it'll be working again by the end of May, as originally promised.
Bad news.
Sony have announced today they're restoring most services by the end of this week. However reading the blog post carefully, it's clear that Bravia Video on Demand is NOT included in this, and will be restored later.
The relevant section is in the fourth full paragraph, and reads: "Service restoration of Video on Demand powered by Qriocity™ and Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for a variety of network-enabled Sony devices will be announced later."
Are you sure this going to be in place for Sony TVs?
The latest blog post on the playstation blog ( http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/05/30/full-psn-services-including-playstation-store-return-this-... ) says:
Service restoration of Video on Demand powered by Qriocity™ and Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for a variety of network-enabled Sony devices will be announced later.
It suggests only PS3, PSP, VAIO and other PCs services will be restored this week.
I hope you are right as this was one of the key reasons for getting the TV in the first place.
regards,
David
Any chance you could check with your friends again? I'm calling this the end of the week, and still no dice. It seems clear there aren't many users of Bravia Internet Video exclusively, so this is a low priority for them. Which is fine as a policy - it's just the lack of information that's frustrating.
Any chance the person in charge of the UK Qriocity servers could put 50p in the meter and power them back up please?
I'm starting to wonder why my nice shiny Bravia doesn't seem to offer half the services that were promised on the box when I bought it.
I appreciate that Sony has had to respond to the identified hacking issue, but according to all the (almost non existent) press releases it's now back online. Yet my TV plainly tells me 'This service is currently offline. Please try again later'. How long should I wait? It's been over a month since I bought the TV and every day it tells me the same message.
It's about time someone from Sony made a proper statement giving details of the proper status of all the services and not just the info for the playstation network.
Checked with my colleague who helps coordinate the service and there are still some last minute glitches being ironed out. Will update as soon as I hear more..
Thanks

It's back! And seems to be fully updated with lots of the new releases we'd missed (The King's Speech, Gnomeo & Juliet etc - plus all the usual trash). Judging by recent form, there should be an email through from Sony to confirm this in about a fortnight...
