Sound on new TV is so 'thin' compared with old Trinitron! How can I improve this? Is there a sound bar or system (low to mid price) that is ideally suited for this size TV?

the only real way forward with this is to connect via optical or audio out to a Hi Fi system or even an A/V amp with speakers

Thanks for your reply.

So a soundbar system isn't good enough?

Problem is my Hi fi is in another room so cabling not viable between TV and HIFI and not in line of sight which I think woud be needed for an optical connection. Does Sony do an AV amp/Speaker system?

Hi,

yes a soundbar would help and certainly an A/V amp and speakers, there are some A/V kits on the market but audition them first if you can, an example can be found below.
