I'm not just talking twitch or zoom in/out. It's much worse than that!
If on 1080p, when 1080i content starts the screen produces greyish ghosting of the main image above it and below it, like thick 1980s static.
And vice versa, when on 1080i and switching to 1080p, the top portion of the screen turns green and pink while the lower portion of the screen gets a lovely green bar across it.
The unfortunate part is if the bloomin' broadcasters would just choose to stick to one format during an entire show (e.g. Channel 4 - Four in a Bed) then it wouldn't be a problem. As it is, the problem is intolerable and makes the tv set unwatchable and I end up reverting to the SD variant of whatever HD channel I was attempting to watch.
I've already taken the previous advice re setting the picture settings so that they're identical across 1080p and 1080i but with no success.
Anyone else have this issue?
Model: KDL-32CX523
Location: Manchester (signal strength is 100%)
Blu-ray content: tested on PS3, no issue when switching from 1080i to 1080p via HDMI

Hi,
I have 32cx520 and 46cx520 and both have similar problem
Even with other input format (not only 1080) , when play some media file (movie) the auto zoom function not working as it should be , then i have to adjust the screen size manually or change the resolution to get the right display . This is a firmware bug
