Cone shadows on 40NX803 - will Sony replace?

We have a Bravia 40NX803 that seems to have developed dark shadows on the top corners, and more prominently in the middle, which have become quite distracting, especially on light backgrounds and panning shots .

From a bit of research it sounds like a common problem with Bravias.

Has anyone had any luck getting a set with similar issues repaired or replaced by Sony? (under warranty)

If so, do they supply a temp tv while the other one is being looked at?

Hi,

if the set is indeed under warranty then it will be covered if anything is wrong, first thing to do is speak to your dealer, if he's worth his salt he will sort it out for you, whether or not you get a loaner or not while yours is being looked at is down to dealer discretion, mine loaned me a set whilst im awaiting replacement.

so all in all it depends on your relationship with your dealer.

Thanks - its one of those things that has become a bit annoying, but maybe not as annoying as having no tv for a few weeks!

Especially with being unsure as to whether or not Sony would acknowledge that there is an issue, or if they'd pull the whole falls within acceptable limits thing.
