best alternative to bt vision with bravia tv

I have a Sony Bravia 32'' KDL-32EX403 LCD TV which has the freeview built  in  - I also have BT vision which is broken at the mo and they say cant sort for  11 days ;-( , I don't have any of the packages so am also thinking of ditching  the whole BT thing for a cheaper alternative. I am looking for a decent PVR  which would work with my TV KDL-32EX403 an not  cost a bomb. I have had a rummage around the net but so diverse and wide  range of prices I am a bit confused. this TV already has freeview so not sure I  would need a Freeview PVR. - would really appreciate any help or advice please

My advice would be to buy a Humax HDR Fox T2.

Super piece of kit BUT about £300.

You can get cheaper PVR's but this one receives/records HD freeview.

I replaced my BT Box with this one.

If you don't want HD then look at other Humax PVR's.

Given the current problem with BBC HD and some Sony TV's I would  want reassurance that the the Sony PVR does not have this problem.
