yes you can use your smartphone just download the media remote app and set it up with your tv.

Hi
yes fine, but where can you get them? I wonder if they are, or were, only for the US market.
Anyone know for sure whether Logitech wireless keyboard will work with this TV to enter text?

The snazzy remote linked to in post #3 can be seen on the Sony US support site - it is supplied for Google TV, so don't expect it here any time soon.
And I find typing on smartphones is farr mor errer stroon than a teevee remoat(!).
A better, little known solution has recently been released by Sony, only for the 2011 Bravias, for anyone with any PC running Windows 7.
You can now download a free official piece of software - to your PC/laptop, not your tellybox - which lets you use ANY computer's keyboard (except VAIO's) to input text to your Bravia.
For full details and download button, see:
http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/KDL-32CX523/downloads/Remote_Keyboard_Lite
NB I assume the software is identical for all supported models they list, but people may wish to start from the top by typing in your own model number, and downloading from that model's updates page.
not a bad find, i downloaded the one in the link and it works pretty much the same way as registering your smartphone, you have to pair the two together, and once you get used to which keys control what its actually quite handy, i believe it would be better suited to a tablet like an ipad or such than a laptop, but it beats fiddling with the standard remote.
Nice one!!
