Hi All,
Has anyone tried an alternative webcam rather than the official CMU-BR100 camera on their CX523 or other skype TV? It would be interesting to see if anyone has any success with other cameras. I have looked at the open source firmware from here http://www.sony.net/Products/Linux/common/search.html and looked at the file named uvcvideo-r104.tar.gz and within it the file "uvc_driver.c", it contained the following:
/* Microsoft Lifecam NX-6000
.idVendor = 0x045e,
.idProduct = 0x00f8,
/* Logitech Quickcam Fusion */
.idVendor = 0x046d,
.idProduct = 0x08c1,
/* Logitech Quickcam Orbit MP */
.idVendor = 0x046d,
.idProduct = 0x08c2,
/* Logitech Quickcam Pro for Notebook */
.idVendor = 0x046d,
.idProduct = 0x08c3,
/* Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000 */
.idVendor = 0x046d,
.idProduct = 0x08c5,
/* Logitech Quickcam OEM Dell Notebook */
.idVendor = 0x046d,
.idProduct = 0x08c6,
/* Logitech Quickcam OEM Cisco VT Camera II */
.idVendor = 0x046d,
.idProduct = 0x08c7,
/* Bodelin ProScopeHR */
.idVendor = 0x19ab,
.idProduct = 0x1000,
/* Creative Live! Optia */
.idVendor = 0x041e,
.idProduct = 0x4057,
/* Ecamm Pico iMage */
.idVendor = 0x18cd,
.idProduct = 0xcafe,
If anyone has access to any of those cameras please can you try them out and report back? Also since the file is called uvc_driver.c, I have a suspicion that the TV may just support any UVC supported webcam. Can anyone confirm this?
I've got a Sony EX720 and a Logitech Pro 9000 Webcam. Although the TV says that the USB device is not recognised, the microphone works with skype. No luck with the video.
Hi
Unfortunately only the Sony camera will work with Skype on the TV's.
Thanks
