After 25/11/2019, unable to watch videos of any quality on YouTube reliably on KD-55XF7096

TV Model: KD-55XF7096

Firmware Version: 8.746-1000-1.700-0000

YouTube App version: web_20191211_00_RC00

As the title says, as of the 25th of November, I am unable to watch videos of any quality reliably via wifi. Where I used to watch videos at 1080p without issues, now the YouTube app struggles to load 480p videos, and will often even buffer 240p videos. Watching YouTube via the browser is slightly better, but I still can't quite maintain a 720p data stream without buffering, which I'm guessing is because of all the garbage taking up bandwidth in the background. I did notice during the first week that the Youtube app version started with "web_20191125_[...]", so I'm guessing there was an update that completely destroyed the app's ability to stream data from YouTube on the 25th, which was a Monday that will live in infamy for me.

Is there any way to revert back to the previous YouTube version on this model? I tried turning off automatic software updates after doing the factory reset and before connecting to my router, but it looks like this just prevents firmware updates, since as soon as I hook up to the network, the YouTube app automatically updates itself.

Are there any ideas out there as to what may be causing this?

Does this sound like something an ethernet cable would solve? I really don't want to drill through walls and set up cabling from one end of the house to the other if it's not going to fix my issue. If my wifi bandwidth is more than enough for 1080p videos on my tablet, I don't see how even more bandwidth with an ethernet cable would help...

I really don't want to lug this thing back to the store, but it's still under warranty, and I bought it specifically so I could watch YouTube in my living room. I don't really watch regular broadcasts. Save me, Sony community! You're my last hope!

Steps I already took:

- Contact my ISP. All signals are green, router is in perfect condition, I can watch 1080p content on my tablet from that room without issues.

- Factory reset the tv and connected steps from local Sony tech support. They actually suggested Sony isn't responsible for this and that I should "contact YouTube", so I'm not expecting them to be of any further help. I may have been passive-aggressive after they made that absurd comment.

- Set up a signal repeater so that the TV has 100% connectivity.

- Yelled at the TV in an attempt to bring it to reason.

@FranciscoAmaral  unless you mitype the firmware version you don't have the latest firmware installed on your tv, first thing I'd advice you to update it

Than youtube uses an adaptive protocol, so you should check the actual bandwith available to your tv. You didn't state which kind of WAN you have (I assume you have a fiber connection) but also the wifi signal maybe disturbed on your tv location (so an ethernet cabling may solve it). In any case the network is the first thng to be analyzed. it may help activating nerd statistics on youtube to understand which is the actual situation your app is getting.
