How do I just take the sound off when texting? The noise the keyboard makes does my head in.
It wasn't on before so I've obviously done something to put it on so I was wondering how to take it off?
Solved! Go to Solution.
If you haven't already found the answer, go to menu, settings, locale and text and then select the keyboard you are using.. eg standard keyboard / android keyboard and turn off key sound and vibrate.
Go to Settings > Sound & display > Audible selection and make sure that the box is not checked.
It isn't selected. The only sound that the phone makes when i tap it is when I'm typing on the keyboard.
and is there anyway to lower the soundFeedback volume of the se keyboard ?
i don't want it off, i just want it on lower volume ?
Sorry missed your extra request... try reducing media volume under menu>settings>sound and display>media volume. That reduces the volume of the 'click' type noise that it makes whilst texting.
I use an app called 'Quick Settings' which gives you a widget for home screen and fromt that you can access your volume controls / brightness /bluetooth on off /wifi on off .... basically lots of the settings that you have to troll through for are there one tap away.
thanks suze, nice application you pointed out
My problem is the opposite. Since I installed the latest upgrade 2.1 I lost the keypress sound which was very useful since I am partially sighted. Can any one advise. I tried the Settings/Sound and Display/Audible touch tones menu, and the Language&Keyboard/Android keyboard/Sound on keypress menu, in both cases I selected "on" but still I don't hear the keyboard sound which I find very useful with my disability.
