Hi,
I received a picture via email on my phone and I can set the image as my wallpaper, but I cant see it in my photo album - any ideas how I can save images from e-mail attachments directly into the album - or browse ones that I have received - Thanks Nick

How did you access your gmail account? browser or gmail app? I still think that it is possible to save if you login your gmail account through browser.

If you long press on the image does it give you the option to save it to SD card? I am thinking of what it does in MMS... you have to view it first and it looks like you are viewing it from within your Album and you would think that it had been saved but in fact its just using Album for view only. Once you have viewed it tho, long pressing when in the text app gives you the save option.
I don't have email currently set up on my phone to test it, but wondered if it may be the same process as MMS. Sorry if I am barking up the wrong tree!

If you can save it using Suze's method, that picture can be found in /SDCard/download folder.

Hi Guys, thanks for replying so quicky, however, I've tried again but the only options I get when I press and hold the image is the 'zoom' option '+ & -'
the only other option is in the bottom corner of the screen which allows me to use as wallpaper or a contact picture, but no option to save.
The image must be on my phone somewhere if it can be used as a wallpaper, as I only connect into email every now and again, but thanks for the suggestions

I don't know whether the following method will work. It will be slightly troublesome, try sending the email with attachment to your gmail account (I believe you have one). View picture in gmail account, you should be able to 'long press' the picture to save it to your SDCard. Good luck.

Ok so just for you I have set up an email account on my X8 which is basically the same as the mini set up and emailed myself an image. Lets see what happens...
OK first off giving me an option to open or save but all I get is a 'broken image' error. Hmmm, I will carry on fiddling and see what I can find out for you.

Using the email to view the picture is the only way I can view it at the moment and this is where I can either set it as wallpaper or a contact picture or zoom in or out, but it doesn't seem to give me any options to save to anywhere.

I forgot to mention that I was using K-9 email app from the market, but have just tried and failed to set up the stock email app. It's not going well for me today! I am on the case tho and will report back when I get my life sorted. It might be worth you trying a third party mail app K-9 or Maildroid are both good.
Can I just clarify if you are on Android 1.6 or 2.1 as that may affect what advice we give.
This might sound really daft, but if you try to forward the email and then save it as draft, and then go in and edit it will it let you long press on it and save then, this was a work around on 1.6 for if you wanted to copy and paste text from an email. Wondered if it would help on this occasion.

Hi Suze, thanks for helping out here.
The firmware version is 1.6 and the standard email app doesn't seem to allow me to even save the e-mail as a draft so maybe another email app ( as you suggested ) might be the way around this. There's 2 on my phone as standard ( email & google mail ) I haven't tried setting up google mail yet

Google mail gives me more options, it will alow me to send the picture via email or mms but still no option to save that I can find. I wonder if this is so that you have to pay to receive an image this way ?
