internal memory

Hi

I just bought sony xperia L,

it's quite good, but I had several question while check it's internal memory. why does it have only 4gb internal memory? shouldn't it 8 gb internal memory(5.8 available)?

Xperia L in factory condition (without third party apps installed) has around 5,5 GB of free space divided between phone memory (1.5 GB) and internal storage (4 GB).

The remaining memory isn't user accessible and is occupied by OS and recovery partition.

You can use an external microSD card to increase available space but here you can't install apps but only put your personal files.

I bought Sony xperia L few days ago, based on a nice review about 8MP EXMOR R camera and 8gb internal storage. And now, seems like Sony are letting me down and wasting my money, the camera is extremely poor, and now my internal storage shown only 4 gb. Maybe first and last time using xperia.

Hello, i just bought a new Sony Xperia L , but i can't understand one thing, it says on specs that it has 8 GB of internal memory, i know that it never reaches 100% capacity that they say, for example , pendrive of 16 GB only has maybe 14GB ,something like that, but on my xperia it says "TOTAL Internal device memory 4.06 GB" , of 8.... what can i do to fix it? It has two memories, one from phone, another from internal, 8 GB means it's the two memories?

Have you read the upper post by uliwooly?It has up to 8GB(from where the system files have 1.2).Both memories are in the 5.8.
