Hi,
Trying to locate which input my soundbar is connected to on the XF9005 in order to do the update but can't find the soundbar on the TV menu ( assuming it's via ARC but as the TV is wall- mounted, no way of seeing)
If anyone cleverer than me could walk me through it, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks
Any ideas why the soundbar isn't showing up?

Thanks for your help by the way
Hi @PaulinBont
Sorry, you really need to get your installer back and set it up correctly. Nobody uses an Optical connection now-a-days as it is limited to Dolby Digital and not the latest sound standards like Dolby Atmos. There is nothing you can do without seeing the HT-ZF9 menu. However the chances are it will update automatically but not if you haven’t setup the Internet connection. If you have an Ethernet cable connected then it will update automatically.

Hi @PaulinBont
Try Home -> Settings-> External inputs -> BRAVIA Sync settings
Hi,
Thanks for the reply, how do I check to see if it is connected to the internet?
I've followed your directions as far as the 'Bravia sync device list' but the only devices shown are the Blu-Ray player (HDMI4) and the Sky Q ( HDMI3)

Hi @PaulinBont
Apologises I realise you need to see the Menu on screen. Using the HT-ZF9 remote Home -> Setup -> Advanced Settings -> Network Settings -> Network Connection Status. If you are not connected use the Internet Settings above.
When I press 'Home' on the ZF9 remote, all I'm getting on the soundbar display is ' Home' ; should I be on a certain screen on the TV display?
On the 'Inputs' page , all that is showing are the Sky Q and Blu-Ray

Hi @PaulinBont
Moving on your Sky Q should be connected to the HT-ZF9 and the HT-ZF9 connected to TV HDMI (ARC) 3?
It looks like we have similar setups

Hi @PaulinBont
Yes, if it was connected correctly you should get the HT-ZF9 Home Menu on screen.
I'm only showing the two devices, and I have no idea how the installer connected up the various components, even though the soundbar is obviously working. Puzzling!

Hi @PaulinBont
Sorry it looks like you haven't got it setup correctly. Follow the Sky Q HDMI lead out of the Sky Q box. If it is going direct to the TV then use another high speed HDMI lead to connect the Sky Q box to HDMI 1 on the HT-ZF9. Then use the original lead from HT-ZF9 output to your TV.
You are looking to achieve Sky Q HDMI out to HT-ZF9 HDMI 1 in and HT-ZF9 out to XF9005 HDMI 3 (ARC) in.
Hi @PaulinBont
Just a thought, has your installer used the Optical Cable to connect your HT-ZF9 to the TV. If you can see the back of the HT-ZF9 then see if it is an Optical Cable or HDMI cable. If connected by Optical then that means you have no on screen control of the HT-ZF9.
Note if it connected using an Optical Cable then you will not benefit from the full Sky Q Experience by denying you Dolby Atmos.
