Sony RDR-HXD560. Turning itself on and off repeatedly. Problem solved.
Had this problem last night. The recorder suddenly shut down and remained off. I removed the power lead from the back of the recorder and waited around three hours. I then reconnected the power supply and the machine immediately sprang to life and started recording progs I had set on timer earlier. All seems to be well. Give it a try!
