I have a PRS-505 and I frequently loose bookmarks, They are OK until turning off or loading a new book then they vanish. I seem to remember that I can delete a file that gets re generated when the book is switched on that may cure the problem. Can anyone help please.

Hi georgina1953
It would appear you may be removing the Reader or closing the Reader Library before the XML file is updated correctly, i would recommend you do a open the directory on the Reader via Windows Explorer and find the Database folder, in there you will find the follow;
/database/cache
/database/media
/database/sync
Explorer the cache directory and delete all the XML files, this will force the Reader to re-index the media on the memory, Remove the USB cable and the unit will reconfigure the files, try a few creating a few bookmarks and then connect to PC again, copy a new file or book to the reader, ensure the 'Status' icon on the left hand bar has stopped, then remove Reader from USB cable.
I hope this helps
