I know the camera is old and out of support but I would like to download the many tapes I have recorded to my PC.
I have set up a Windows XP 32 bit system and, I think, downloaded and installed the USB driver.
After connecting my camera via a USB lead and looking in Device Manager/ Imaging devices I can see an entry for Sony Digital Imaging Video.
Looking in Properties for this entry I can see that the driver has been provided by Sony Corporation dated 16/10/2002 so the driver appears to be there OK.
However looking in My Computer I don't see any icons to show my camera is connected so I can't access any of the videos.
What am I doing wrong?
Cheers
Gerry
For a USB Streaming you have to install ImageMixer if you have It and work...
Now the Sony's software is PlayMemories Home but from version 6.0 is no more possibile to import the Video from tapes of Mini DV's Camcorders... And it's not for XP...
If you know anyone with a Mac you can ask if this guy can import tapes for you via FireWire, or you can buy an FireWire external board...
Many thanks for the reply.
Any ideas where I can find a copy of ImageMixer?
A quick Google has only shown updates to ImageMixer.

No, sorry, it's been too long... ImageMixer is on disk in the Camera package...
I've found this online, if you want to try...:
Many thanks
I'll give it a try
